Testosterone and Muscles

English: Do you remember yesterday when I mentioned that the deer had crazy eyes? Now I know why... check out the antlers. Apparently around winter time, when they're about to loose their antlers, the blood supply is cut off and the "wool" on their antlers (which is called velvet, as I learned today)  begins to fall off. They will assist the shedding by rubbing the antlers against trees, I guess that's the reason why it looks so gruesome? When the nights become longer in the winter time, the bull produces more testosterone which makes them more muscular and aggressive and finally makes their antlers fall off. No wonder they were so pissed!

"I'll give you one second to get the F outta my face"

Can you see the blood at the base of the antler?
